I'm getting this error "The string was not recognized as a valid DateTime. There is a unknown word starting at index 25. "

when using the the following code:

RssToolkit.Rss.RssDocument rss = RssToolkit.Rss.RssDocument.Load(new System.Uri("http://www.utexas.edu/opa/opa.xml"));
gvFeed1.DataSource = rss.SelectItems();
gvFeed1.DataBind();

I've tried other feeds and they work fine. Is there something I can do to be able to read this feed?

Thanks,
Robert

That feed is publishing an invalid date. Check the results from FeedValidator http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.utexas.edu%2Fopa%2Fopa.xml

It's possible to modify such that we accept other date formats, but I don't expect that to garner any support. You should contact the feed publisher and tell them they are being naughty.

Thanks for the feedback. I did ask them to look into their feed. I also looked into the other feeds we were planning to incorporate in our site and found that 4 out of the 5 fail the validator.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/rss/linkset/2005/03/24/LI2005032400102.xml
http://www.forbes.com/business/index.xml
http://rss.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032091/device/rss/rss.xml
http://www.utexas.edu/opa/opa.xml

It seems to me that if so many large organizations have these many errors in their feed that perhaps the toolkit can be made more flexible? Is that possible?

Happy Friday,
Robert
